Zlatibor is a mountain range with the cleanest air in the Balkans. Known as an air spa and stress-free spot, the landscape is full of forests, waterfalls, caves and pine forests. The mountain range was named for Zlatni bor (eng. Golden pine), the coniferous species, which in autumn “paints” the entire region with its golden needles.

Zlatibor’s hosts will feed you well with lamb cooked in a sač (eng. a traditional Balkan cast-iron oven, similar to a Dutch oven), homemade kajmak (eng. thick, tangy clotted cream made of sheep’s or cow’s milk), cheese and hot bread. Women from Zlatibor are famous for their hand-knitted sweaters, made with traditional patterns typical of the region.
