Homolje is a region of Eastern Serbia, extremely rich in mineral and hot water springs. Limestone mountains conceal many caves through which the underground river flows and reappears on the surface as clear water springs.
Homolje is almost entirely covered with oak and beech forests. No wonder that the hajduci (eng. outlaws during the Ottoman rule) were hiding here.
