Alibunar is town in southern Banat (situated in the north Serbian province – Vojvodina), and is also the name of the district of the natural park Deliblatska Peščara (eng. Deliblato Sands). Once known as “The European Sahara”, it is now a habitat for marshland birds as well as being the largest migratory area in this part of Europe. The richness of flora is reflected in 900 different plant species, some of them relicts and rarities.
