Over 300 mineral and thermal mineral springs make Serbia one of the richest mineral spring regions in Europe. The most celebrated and most popular of them is Vrnjačka banja (eng. spa) – a special wellness centre, situated about 200 kilometres south of Belgrade. It has seven springs, four of them with special healing properties. Even the ancient Romans were aware of the beneficial effects of this mineral water.
