Tara Mountain and Drina River represent a national park of unspoilt nature.
Drina is the “green” river that flows through the most beautiful Serbian countryside. Robert de Niro named his daughter Drina, after one of his favourite novels “The Bridge on Drina River”, written by the Serbian Nobel laureate Ivo Andric.
A few kilometres from the banks of the Drina River, world famous director Emir Kusturica built his home/museum/hotel Drvengrad (eng. Wooden Town) and reconstructed the old mountain railway route “Sargan 8”.
