Fruška Gora is a mountainous island in the wide Pannonian plain. Serbian monks fled Kosovo under Turkish oppression in the 17th century, and symbolically, 17 monasteries were built here. The vineyards of these regions are famous, and spiced wine “Bermet” (that was served at Vienna king’s table), is produced only here in ancient city Sremski Karlovci.
“Fantast” near Bečej is the most famous manor hause in Vojvodina. Its name comes from the name of the founder´s favourite champion race horse. It includes the house, a small watch-tower, the chapel to Saint George, a stud-farm for race-horses and the park.
